- All in one payment service.
- Well-known and trusted by customers.
- Easy to setup and accept card payments.
PayPal is a convenient and quick way to start accepting credit/debit cards. It is safe to say that almost everyone knows about it and might have used the service before. It is definitely a well-known brand and a giant in the payment processing industry. Similarly to other services such as Stripe and Square, PayPal charges the same per transaction cost without monthly fees. However, there is a drawback since PayPal service does take the user out of the seller’s environment and directs them to its website. On the other hand, it is possible to get a feature that will keep the user in place, but PayPal charges $30 for the Pro version.
|Credit Card Processing||Details|
|Transaction Cost||Swiped, dipped, or tapped 2.7%|
Online: 2.9% + $0.30
Online (received from outside the U.S.): 4.4% + fee that varies by currency
|Networks Accepted||Visa |
|Chargeback/Disputes||$20 (refundable if issuing bank rules in your favor)|
PayPal Payments Pro
The Pro version of the standard PayPal. Overall, very similar to each other. However, there are a few distinctive differences. For starters, there is a monthly fee of $30. With that said, you get the ability to fully customize the users’ checkout experience, rather than take them out of your website’s environment. As an extra incentive, PayPal Pro also includes the PayPal Virtual Terminal.
